SWALIMO PRESIDENT 'MAGAWUGAWU' SUSPENDED FROM HIS OWN PARTY!
Mduduzi 'Magawugawu' Simelane, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement (SWALIMO) has been suspended.
The Bridge is in possession of a letter signed by the organization's Chairperson, Busie Mayisela, and Secretary General, Dr Siphetfo Dlamini, addressed to Simelane.
“This letter serves to advise you of your suspension from your duties as President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement with immediate effect," reads the letter in part.
In the suspension letter, Simelane is accused of, among other things, ill-discipline. "Your suspension follows your track record of ill-discipline - including but not limited to your stubborn refusal to subject yourself to the leadership collective of the movement, your habit of bullying, threatening and intimidation of comrades at all levels who dare disagree with you or challenge your leadership," it says.
The suspension letter is dated 10 November 2022 and efforts to authenticate it proved futile as both Dr Dlamini and Simelane were not available when called. The Bridge is also in possession of an announcement to all structures informing them about the decision. This announcement if dated 11 November 2022.
Reached for comment, SWALIMO Spokesperson Thandaza Silolo said they were currently in a meeting to discuss this and that a statement would be issued soon.
This is a breaking story more details will be added with time. Dr Dlamini did not respond to our questions when reached for comments.
