WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT BACEDE INSURANCE PAYOUT BECAUSE OF CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY, ARGUES LIDWALA INSURANCE.

Following explosive revelations in court that Lidwala Insurance had refused to pay compensation to former Hosea Member of Parliament Bacede Mabuza after a mysterious fire in one of his business premises, the company has come out to state that they are unable to respond or clarify the truth or otherwise of such claims because of client confidentiality.

Lindwala Insurance´s Marketing and PR Manager Ncobile Dlamini told The Bridge that they were restricted by the Data Protection Act of 2023 from disclosing any information relating to how they handle their client's cases.

"Lidwala has a robust claim payment procedure that ensures client claims are paid on time when they meet and fulfil the claim parameters in the policy cover," Dlamini said in a brief response to this publication.

Lidwala Insurance has attracted negative publicity and public backlash following Mabuza´s comments while mitigating sentence at the High Court yesterday. About three years ago Mabuza´s shop was gutted down by mysterious fire shortly after his arrest for murder and terrorism charges. Police have not made any breakthrough in the case.

Mabuza indicated in court that he had a reason to believe the state was behind the fire that gutted his business. During mitigation of sentence before Judge Mumcy Dlamini, Mabuza told the court that he had not received his insurance payout despite paying his dues diligently to Lidwala over the year.
