PRIME MINISTER TO ADDRESS WORKERS DAY RALLY TOMORROW.
For the first time in the history of workers day rallies, commemorated the world over as International Labour Day, the country's Prime Minister will address workers.
This has been confirmed by the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) Secretary General Mduduzi Gina in a brief statement issued today. Gina indicated that, as per practice, they invited the government to their commemoration and this time, unlike in the past, they accepted the invitation and government is sending the Prime Minister as head of delegation.
This is the first that that workers have been addressed by the leader of government. In the past only Ministers or even Principal Secretaries responsible for labour would address workers.
The country’s trade unions and workers will commemorate May day at the Prince of Wales stadium in Mbabane.
