Minister Manqoba Khumalo taken on on his lies
Minister of Commerce Manqoba Khumalo has become the poster boy for the government's counteroffensive against the bad publicity it has faced in the recent past. In fact, he has become a spin doctor in chief who hobnobs from one media house to the next sanitising the government image. Khumalo has appeared in countless interviews in South Africa where he talks about the recent unrest in the country sometimes together with Minister of Finance Neil Rijkenberg and sometimes alone.
The Minister seems to have taken the role of Sabelo Dlamini, the government spin doctor, except he seems to have taken the lies, embellishments and exaggerations a notch up. Also clear is that the Ministers have contradicted each other in their messaging and have also not been speaking from the same script.
